Tellerex takes a proactive and detail-driven approach to ADA compliance, ensuring all units meet legal and usability standards before, during, and after deployment.

At Tellerex, ADA compliance is not an afterthought—it’s built into every stage of our asset lifecycle management process. From refurbishment and staging to installation and site surveying, we ensure that all ATMs, TCRs, and self-service equipment meet or exceed the standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Through the use of specialized tools, precise measurements, and a deep understanding of ADA guidelines, Tellerex helps financial institutions create accessible, inclusive experiences for all users—regardless of physical ability.

Our Approach to ADA Compliance

ADA compliance is about more than meeting legal requirements—it's about delivering dignity, independence, and usability to every customer.

Tellerex ensures that your equipment and your brand reflect these values.

With decades of experience in financial equipment deployment and compliance, we are your partner in creating a more inclusive future for all.

Pre-Deployment ADA Validation

  • During staging, all ATMs and self-service devices are configured with ADA-friendly features such as audio jacks, tactile keypads, and voice guidance functionality.

  • Physical configurations are tested to ensure all reach points (e.g., card readers, touchscreens, receipt printers) fall within the legal range: 15" to 48" from finished floor.

On-Site Surveys and Digital Overlay

  • Tellerex conducts site surveys using ADAchecktools™, ensuring that installed units meet reach, approach, and maneuvering clearances as outlined in ADA guidelines.

  • We capture precise spatial measurements and create digital overlays to detect conflicts in real-time, including bollard spacing, door swings, and ATM positioning.

  • Obstructions are documented, and remediation plans are developed in collaboration with client teams if compliance risks are identified.

Installation Compliance Checks

  • On the day of installation, technicians revalidate all ADA-related measurements, including side reach, front approach clearance, floor space, and mounting height.

  • Visual documentation and photographic evidence are collected and archived in SPOTLight to provide a permanent record of compliance at each location.

Ongoing Monitoring and Updates

  • As ADA guidelines evolve, Tellerex ensures ongoing alignment through internal training and equipment updates.

  • Retrofits and refresh programs also include ADA assessments, allowing older assets to be brought into compliance as needed.

Key ADA Compliance Metrics We Monitor

  • Reach Ranges:
15" minimum and 48" maximum from finished floor to the highest operable part

  • Operable Components:
All input methods (buttons, card slots, touchscreens) must be usable with one hand and not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting

  • Clear Floor Space:
Minimum 30" x 48" clear space in front of unit for wheelchair access

  • Audio and Visual Accessibility:
Presence of an audio jack and tactile indicators for users with visual impairments

  • Knee and Toe Clearance:
Verified for walk-up and sit-down installations as applicable
