ATMs have never been more critical to the success of your institution — and now is the time to invest in keeping them current and safe by upgrading to the Windows 10 operating system
The Importance of ATMs.
ATMs remain the leading touch-point for a financial institution’s interaction with account holders. The quality of the ATM cardholder experience drives loyalty and is a key aspect of a financial institution’s multichannel strategy. ATMs continue to deliver strong, reliable ROI, by offloading many traditional teller and call center transactions and by providing on-screen messaging and cross-selling opportunities for new products and customized offers.
A Looming Deadline
In just a little over a year from now, on January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer support Windows 7, the operating system that drives over 400,000 ATMs in the U.S. In practical terms, this will mean the end of security updates, security patches, non-security hot-fixes, free or paid support options and online technical content updates.
To be blunt - If you use Windows 7, you – and your ATMs – will no longer be supported. To avoid security and compliance issues, ensure the best possible member experience and prepare for the future, Tellerex urges financial institutions to begin the process of migrating to Windows 10 as soon as possible.
